Breaking News

Unfortunately, we have had to cancel the 60th Birthday Celebration due to apparent lack of interest.  We feel really bad.  The Marriott had been so great to us, but we just didn't think it was fair to have people pay to visit with just a handful of classmates.  Oh, well, we had a good run: 10 years, 20 years, 25 years, 30 years, 50th b'day party (when people were still young enough to party), 35 years, and 40 years.

However, since we are going to have some out of town visitors that we don't want to completely disappoint, we are planning an informal get together Saturday night at the Palm Pavilion starting at 7:00 p.m.  Hopefully, we'll have a good turn out for that.  You don't have to register, you don't even have to pay.  You just have to show up.

For those of you who paid, we'll have refund checks with us Saturday night.  If you aren't there Saturday, we will mail your check.

The plans for the CHS Class of 1968 60th Birthday Celebration have been finalized and we're looking forward to a great weekend.

Plans include a casual get together Friday night and a buffet dinner Saturday night, both at the Marriott.  We have worked hard to keep the costs down and it looks like the price will come in at $85 per person total for both nights. The registration and payment forms will be available here by October 10.

The Clearwater Beach Marriott Suites on Sand Key is fabulous, right on the Clearwater Bay, with a beautiful pool area and newly remodeled rooms. We have negotiated a special room rate of $149 per night for October 22 and 23. We have only asked them to hold 10 suites, so make your reservations NOW by visiting the Marriott website or by calling 888-303-4428 and telling you're with the Clearwater High Class of 1968 group.

After October 8, any rooms not reserved will be released, and the rate will go up. Don’t miss out!  If you're not sure you'll be staying at the Marriott, you can make your reservations now and, as long as you cancel 3 days before the event, there is no charge.  (And, if you try to register and can't get the rate, please let Patty know at pdperkey@hotmail.com, as special arrangements may be able to be made, but it's not guaranteed.)

If you are not able to get a room at the special rate, please let Linda or Patty know.

We will have TVs available at both events for baseball playoffs and college football viewing.  And, the hospitality suite will be available during the weekend for off-hour get togethers and game watching.

If you have not attended one of our functions in the past, it's never too late to start.  If you are one of the regulars, thank you for making these parties such a success over the past 32 years.

In a bit of bad news for the late night partiers, the Waffle House on the south end of the beach has closed down.

Mark your calendars!!  Dates for the 60th birthday celebration have been set for October 22-24.  Final plans have not been formalized, but watch your email for further details.  The party will be at the Marriott on Sand Key.  Look forward to seeing everyone there.

It's that time again.  Time to donate to the CHS Class of 1968 Scholarship Fund.  Click here to visit the scholarship page and make your donation through PayPal or pay by credit card.  Thanks to all of you for making this a success!

Also, we are making tentative plans for a 60th birthday party.  It would be very casual and we're talking about having it in the fall at the Marriott on Sand Key (nee Radisson) where we had the 35th.  Take our quick survey so we can see if anyone is interested.

Also, be sure to join our group on Facebook.  If you have been out of touch, especially if you're on the infamous "Most Wanted" list, and would like to be included in mailings, please complete the Information Update form.

Welcome 2010

Well, 2009 is history and we move on to 2010.  Many of us will turn 60 this year.  Can anyone believe it?  Who would have thought?  Anyway, the pictures from the 40th reunion are up.

Stay tuned to see if there are plans for a 60th birthday party this year.
